A secret to perfect eye makeup look is a lot of blending. We do not want to show anyone as if a painter used our eyes as canvas. When doing my makeup, I always remember these golden words-
“Yes, yes ,yes to blending and No to harsh lines”❤
I always say this, there are no rules when it comes to makeup. If I find a brush that works perfectly on the crease of my eyes, is soft, and fluffy, I will use it as blending brush. All depends on what look I am going for that day.
So here are my favorite brushes to blend my eyeshadows , whether matte or shimmery. I own way more than a normal girl should own(not proud) brushes but I picked my top most favorites.
So I have here :
2 Sigma Dual brush I got from my Eyeshadow palettes in Dare and Flare- The black bristles shed a bit otherwise it is just my ideal.
2 Real Techniques brushes- The very soft bristles makes blending of multiple eye shades on the crease.
1 dual eye brush from my Anastasia Beverly Hills World Traveler Palette. – This brush is my no.1 favorite because of the size. Perfect for cut crease looks.
1 from Bh cosmetics which I grab most of the time. This came in a set I bought not too long ago and it was such a bomb deal. Check here.
1 bought from a Facebook seller ,a dupe of BH Cosmetics Sculpt line and it is amazing.
What is your favorite blending brush?
Remember, our brushes need equal care and we should wash them regularly. Check out this post to see how I clean my makeup brushes.
As you all know, if you have been following my blog, that I am focusing on “makeup for beginners” issues and share my knowledge with them. So in this search, I came to know about this store Quick Makeup Stencils on Etsy.com that I found so interesting. I messaged them and Valya was so kind to send me some of their best products to try. I received from them Quick Makeup stencils and Quick eyeliner stickies. They dealt with me very nicely and I’m so happy with their customer service.
Though I’m not a stencil kind of person at all and I have seen many eyebrow stencils out there but never felt the urge to buy them, what this store offered was different and immediately caught my attention as it was actually stencils to apply eyeshadows and eyeliner. What could be better than getting that perfect cat winged eyeliner in very less time specially when you’re a beginner. I knew I just had to get this. This post will focus on the makeup stencils only and eyeliner stickies on the next post.
The Quick Makeup stencils set I received has 3 identical stencils for eyebrows, eyeshadow and eyeliner application. Receiving 3 stencils is just amazing as in case something happens with one you can use the other. It also has the step by step guide inside which is very helpful.
This is how the stencil looks like. It has 3 for the brows and the rest for eyeshadows and eyeliner.
This eyebrow stencil is so helpful for those who do not know how to do their eyebrows yet using the kits in the market. You can practice with this initially before you actually get your hands used to this routine. If you have thick brows, then this stencil might not be for you as this is ideal for those have thin ones. However do give it a shot by trying. so if you have your brow shape from the above, then this one is for you 😀
This is one page of the guide they sent along, which you will receive in your kit. A detailed guide on how to apply fishtail line. Something I always struggled but now life is just much easier. Use a very pointed marker eyeliner for this one to get the perfect flick.
They have the guide for you from dramatic to smokey and almond eye makeup. There are few tips and tricks on applying this which I will share with you all shortly in a video.
There are actually 10 ways to use this stencil from eye shadow application to brows ,eyeliners and even eyelash application. Retails for $15 USD here and best part is they ship worldwide for FREE so it doesn’t matter which part of the world you belong to. 🙂
Please refer to the picture to see how I did my look the very first time I used it. Initially you would need a bit of practice but it is not difficult at all. I got everything right the 3rd time I used it. Will be posting an updated looks in a week , pictures and videos to be uploaded this week.
Hope you found this product interesting like I did. Did you ever use makeup stencils? How was the experience?
Disclaimer: The product/s mentioned here was sent to me for review purpose and all thoughts, opinions and pictures shared in this post are totally mine based on experience. I am not, by any means, paid by the company to write this.
So I’m a proud owner of Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadow Couture World Traveler Palette already. 😀 Feels so good to open my drawer and find this palette inside. Ah! This is what I’ve been using ever since it came. I don’t know if you guys are the same, but in my case, when I like something, I tend to use it a lot and somehow forget about other existing stuff. You can’t blame me because this palette offers a variety of shades with which you can create as many looks as you want.
I like the color combination of gold and black. The palette is very easy to open and close due to the magnetic touch it has.
It comes with a dual end brush which is very useful, one end perfect for blending and the other end with the smaller bristles perfect to apply shades on crease.
The palette has 4 matte shades and the others a mixture of metallic and satin finish. The colors are very pretty and super pigmented. I didn’t need any kind of eyeshadow base for this at all. The mattes are intense and the metallic ones have enough shimmer in them that do not look awkward at all.
Moving on to the swatches:
The eyeshades as I mentioned, has a very good pigmentation. It is applied directly on bare skin which means no eyeshadow base at all. They are very easy to blend and the colors offered in this palette is just perfect enough for one to create different looks suitable for any time and occasion.
pink champagne and chic are ideal for brightening inner corners of the eye.
soft peach and morocco as transition colors
heirloom and bellini on the lids
The bottom row has more of metallic and satiny shades. Noir is an intense matte shade of black.
Noir perfect for outer corner of the lids for a dramatic look.
spoiled and fudge as transition shades.
spoiled can be used for inner corner of the eyes too.
The colors are long-lasting, I have been applying them mostly without any primer and they lasted forever.

Hope you enjoyed knowing what I thought about this palette ❤
It’s 1 am in the morning in Dubai, it was a long day and I am so sleepy. But I know I can’t sleep, knowing the pictures for this post are ready already as I got the chance to edit them earlier today. It has been awhile ever since I got my hands on this heavenly palette but never got the time to post about it. Let me warn you, this post is going to be more of praising what I love rather than a “Review” 😛 Kidding aside, I am in love already with this baby, so all you need to do is witness why I do so ❤
Moving ahead with the review and swatches.
It comes in a black box exactly the same as the palette’s color combination just that at the back you’ll find the ingredients.
Now look at that!! Aren’t they beautiful collection of mattes? Morphebrushes have different Pro Eyeshadow palettes in Cool Matte and Warm Matte ,similarly Cool Shimmer and Warm shimmer palettes. Besides these, there are many other options so check out their website I’m going to link below.
Let’s begin with the swatches from the bottom row of the palette we name Row1-
Shades 1, 2, 3 are beautiful bright colors ideal for any skin tone, I can wear them day or night, graduation or party. 4 is a shade I’d only wear with white eyeshadow base or it won’t show with the skin tone I have. I’m a bit disappointed with shades 5 & 6 as I don’t really have anything in mind on how to use them and I feel them quite unnecessary. Shade 7 I might use at times for brow bones.
Here in Row 2 you have pretty colors that you can wear anytime, no,9 is my favorite, it is a very good transition color but shades 13 & 14 seems repetitive shades. I’d like to keep no.13 if I had to choose one but that ain’t happening. I know I can pull these shades off very well on a white eyeshadow base, Light colors won’t show up in my already naturally pigmented lids. Grrr!
Row 3 has a lot of greens , 16 & 20 being my favorite. The colors are beautiful ,wearable at anytime. Don’t be scared with no.18 as I believe it can be a very good transition shade. However , 16 and 21 felt a bit chalky and had some fall outs.
A close up.
Just giving you all a good reason to love them 😛
Row 4 has some earth tones, wonderful warm tones, ideal for daytime natural look and no.28 will make a great Summer look!
Row 5 have the blackish..grayish shades, I love each and every shade in this row. I can create different smokey eyes looks with these. No.29 is something you can use as eyeliner if you aren’t in mood for the typical liners we have. Row 5 is full of dramatic, bold and beautiful shades ❤
I highly recommend this palette, It is quite affordable , aed108 for 32 pigmented shades is not a bad deal at all. I won’t say it is super duper pigmented as some of its colors won’t show on lids without white eye base, but are pigmented enough. The shades are very soft, silky , smooth & easy to blend. These shades are enough for me to create different looks. I won’t need any other palette of similar shades as I can mix and match them easily to be able to get my desired color. However, my next target is the shimmer palettes. I’m not sure if it is the palette or it is my eyeshadow base that made it long-lasting, as I wore it for about 6 hrs and the colors were as bright as the time I applied them on.
