This rule is universal. Before working on something, let’s say painting. The painter prepares all things he needs like paints, paint brushes , cleaner etc. and for these,he would need a clean canvas. Similarly, before applying makeup , we need a clean face which would be our canvas. 🙂 There are few steps you need to follow to prepare your skin for this. Each and very routine will be elaborated in a separate post, and will be linked directly.

How I prepare my skin:

  1. Wash face using my face wash.
  2. Apply face toner
  3. Apply moisturizer

How I prep my lips:

  1. Exfoliate (Click here to make your own lip exfoliator at home)
  2. Apply lip conditioner/moisturizer/balm

Wait for around 2 to 3 minutes before starting your make up.I have combination to oily skin and if you want to know my skincare routine, check here.

Step by step make up guide:

Please note that the steps mentioned in this post is what I have been following and not necessarily the same as others. Everyone has their own ritual to follow depending on what suits them and what works for them better. You may want to change these steps too once you are familiar with these. I believe in “no rules makeup” but a guidance won’t harm a beginner.

After prepping my skin, I move on to doing my eyes.

Eye routine:

  1. Eye primer/eyeshadow base
  2. Eyeshadow
  3. Eyeliner
  4. Mascara

Acne and Pimple Face Wash

DIY’s has been one of my favorite! You must have noticed by now, how I share with you all few DIY I know in my blog. Reading fellow bloggers’ blogs has been part of my blogging routine and that is where I found this amazing blog The Remedy Genie.

She has a collection of home made remedies for just about everything. You guys should check out her unique blog. Meeting new friend bloggers feels so good. So here is my very first guest post from this amazing and talented person.

Acne and Pimple Face Wash

Remember when you went through puberty and you suffered from the pimple breakouts or the acne? You finally hit that age where you thought it was all over and then breathed a sigh of relief, only to find out you were pretty wrongly mistaken. Unfortunately pimple break outs is something we experience most of our lives, here and there, for various reasons. Acne sufferers can barely get a break from pimples. I have friends who have suffered from acne for years, trying dozens of different acne treatments and pills and creams… it’s really never ending.

So I researched all the causes and reasons for acne and pimples, in hope to find natural ingredients that will basically fight against pimples. I have come up with a great home remedy for acne and pimple face wash using all natural ingredients, probably already in your kitchen.

This recipes is really simple and its suds free. If you feel the needs for suds, you can add 1 teaspoon of liquid castile soap, it is all natural and made from coconut oil.

Simply mix 1 tablespoon of honey with ½ tea spoon of cinnamon.

Make sure your hair it’s tied back tightly.

Rub the mixture all over your face, rub it in really well for a good couple of minutes. You can let it sit for 2 minutes after rubbing it in to let it soak up a little or just rinse it off if you are in a hurry. Pat your skin dry, it is very important to never wipe and only pat!

Honey is anti-bacterial, which cleans your skin , removes dead skin, excess oil build up and kills away the bacteria that causes the acne and pimples. It also provides you skin with natural moisture without causing it to produce excess oil to compensate for dryness. I recommend this face wash twice a day and I recommend to follow it with the topical application and face cream, you can find the links above.

I hope this home remedy for acne and pimple face wash helps you. So far I have had great feedback from friends but as we know everyone is different. If you don’t have luck with this please let me know, I do have other natural alternative remedies and would love to help.

DIY – Lips Exfoliatior

Hi Beauties! ❤

Today I’ll be sharing with you a DIY Lips Exfoliator that I’ve been using for quite some time now. 🙂 Due to those unwanted dry skin we end up biting them off which is not a good way to treat your lips. So don’t do that and start exfoliating. Who says you need to go out of your budget to get one, make yours from scratch with everything from your kitchen. 😀

Why do we exfloliate lips?

In easy words, there are times our lips gets flaky, dry and accumulate dry skin on the surface which looks very unpleasant, for that we need to remove that unwanted layer on our lips due to which we exfoliate them.

Easy DIY Lips Exfoliator

What you need :

1.  White Sugar -2 tsp

2. Extra Virgin Oil- 1/2 tspDSC_5108

3. Coconut Oil- 1 tspDSC_5110

4. Honey-1/2 tsp (Optional)– If you aren’t adding honey, then increase quantity of coconut oil to 1.5 tsp

5. Food Color-1 drop (optional and use your desired color)DSC_5112

6. Jars/pots to store your home made Lip Exfoliator.

Add all of the above in a bowl and mix using spoon for 5 to 8 seconds only not much as you don’t want to dissolve sugar.

Then put them in a cute, nice jar of your choice and refrigerate.DSC_5113

Your Orange Lip exfoliator is ready. ❤

DSC_5127The other one I make is Brown Lip exfoliator. You will need all of the above ingredients except for the food color as it won’t give a nice color when mixed with the brown sugar. Of course, omit the white sugar 😛

This Lips Exfoliator is good to use for two weeks. I have very dry lips ,I guess it’s the weather in Dubai that’s making me struggle with my lips issues, so I exfoliate my lips every other day and this quantity lasts for about 10 days in my case. If you already have nice, soft lips, exfoliating once a week should be enough.

You can always increase the quantity according to preference, but If you are doing this for the first time, i suggest to stick to this quantity so you get an idea about the quantity. 🙂

Tips: 1. Remove lip exfoliator 3 to 5 minutes before use.

2. While mixing, keep track of the consistency you want as I might have a different choice, If you want a dry mixture, increase sugar, if you want a bit runny mixture then increase coconut oil.

Hope you find this post useful. Thanks for reading.

Stay Gorgeous! ♥

DIY-From Glossy to Matte Lipstick

Turn you lipstick to matte
Turn you lipstick to matte

Hi beauties!

I know this is all over the internet but just wanted to share with you how I’ve been doing it. You guys should try this if you haven’t yet.

You can now turn any of your ‘non-matte’ or glossy lipstick to matte one.

What you need:

Any loose powder(baby powder will also do the work), I used e.l.f HD Powder

Lipstick of your desired shade.

How to:

1. First , prep your lips( exfoliate)

2. Apply lip liner (same shade as your lipstick)-make sure to sharpen it as we want a good pointed nib for outlining.

3. Apply lip liner all over lips.

4. Then , take your lipstick (any lipstick that is non-matte)

5. Dab on it loose powder with finger or brush. You can control the amount of powder depending on how matte you want your lipstick to be.

6. Your matte lipstick is ready. ❤

7. Now brush off any powder fall outs with brush, around your lips.

This method not only turns your lipstick into matte but also helps in keeping it long on.

Hope you find this a bit of help. If you do, do comment your thoughts on this, hit like and follow my blog.
