Nowadays, we women are so much into branded stuff that often neglect all the things we can buy from our very own country’s local market. I am guilty of this for sure. I,for a while forgot that we can actually get a lot of good stuff from Pakistan and it is just a matter of finding the right thing. If we are spending a ton on makeup stuff, why not use that money by buying in our own country sometimes.
So in my last trip, I made sure to try few things and buy some oldie Goldie brands that I have seen in my teenage years. I ended up buying many and tried some stuff, loved some of them and threw away the ones that weren’t worth it at all.
Five months into blogging and I already have a lot of stories to share. It’s been an awesome journey generally. To be honest nothing was or is easy about blogging. From organizing your time to clicking pictures and putting together a whole content is a lot of hard work. I do not want to talk sweet nothings about blogging and say that it is very easy, it is fun and light etc. because I feel I might mislead new comers. Blogging has to be something you are passionate about, it has to be something you love doing and you love it unconditionally. You shouldn’t “want” to do it because of the extra income you get or the freebies or popularity. (eventually you can always think of earning through it) You blog once you feel the need to do it because you have something to share about. Yes, sharing is very important. You are putting out posts there for people to read, what you write is what you share. You can’t write if you do not have a genuine topic to talk about because at the back of your mind you just want to post as many as you can to build a certain portfolio. Then in this case you end up having a post with just mechanical words put together. The write-up has to have something that can connect the reader to the author and that can only be achieved if you are serious about it. Of course, one day ,you will enjoy receiving free products from companies for reviewing. Now let’s talk fun. With all the above being said, I’d say blogging is really fun but with it comes a whole lot of things and it is a whole package. The package includes many things such as honesty, sincerity, creativity and time. If you love what you do, this package will be very easy in the long run. The following are the rules I have for myself as a blogger. We need to follow certain rules to be in a certain organization so you do not find yourself isolated. Isolation is what you do not want if you are blogging. ( remember our magic word “traffic” ?) So you cannot just write and post, you need a lot of socializing, that’s where all our social media platforms do their entry. 🙂 This will be a huge topic but for today, let me share my thoughts on what a blogger should and shouldn’t do. So if you are a blogger, I think these should be your …….
Be organized- Have a notebook all the time with you and jot down topics of your next posts. Pen down ideas and keep a record of dates you need to post on your blog, Facebook , Instagram , Twitter etc.
Click very good quality pictures-Do not torture you readers with blurry pictures. It is not cool. I know it all depends on what camera you are using, which phone you are using but to be honest I find all of these, lame excuse. Everyone has a phone, if resolution is not good ,wait for daylight and click pictures in front of windows or outdoors.(even china mobiles can click awesome pics during the day) If you have a camera, learn how to use it for good pictures. Find a way!
Meaningful content– I do understand the fact that not all bloggers are writers and I think one shouldn’t mix these two. I believe everyone has their own way of writing and penning down their ideas. English is not my language, but I try my very best to write a post with minimal mistakes by proofreading before I publish. Write your heart out and it will be unique, just make sure to check for mistakes , seek your friends’ and family’s help, read out to them before you publish because trust me no one will be interested in reading an article they cannot understand.
Share- Here comes the main part, share your posts in all of your social media platform. There are many ways to do that. Be resourceful. Make use of YouTube and watch videos on how to add widgets to your blog. The more you share the more chances people will know about you.
Visit other blogs- This is the most important part for me. Make sure to include this in your blogging schedule, read posts by others. My blog visit day is Thursday, where I visit my followers’ blogs, like and comment wherever I can. My followers are my priority in this matter, because I have been blessed with really good following beauties who are regular in my blog. The least I can do is return the favor. Of course I can’t visit all in one day so I make a list of blogs I visited already so I have record of whom to skip the next Thursday. But once in a while, visit new non-following blogs too, this way you can discover new bloggers to interact with and add to your circle. By visiting blogs, you have high chances of getting new “follows” because you are getting noticed.
Follow back- The feeling of getting that magical notification of another additional follower is amazing. Do not forget to return the follow. What I do is, click the name of the person who followed me as soon as I get the notification and “follow” them. If I am free , I go through their blog and read some posts and interact with them by commenting otherwise I always go back to them on Thursdays.
Respond to emails- I admit ,at times it is annoying when you get a lot of emails and messages on Facebook, Like what cream to use for such type of skin, which is the best drugstore eyeliner etc, it is actually your followers’ love and trust that make them do that. So do not ignore their emails or messages because it will be really rude. Whatever the email may be, not unless it is a spam, you should respond. Companies of unknowns brands might email asking if you can review their products, if you are not interested ,still you have to respond and excuse yourself. Show professionalism everywhere. P.S Check your emails regularly. Install the app and turn on notifications, it shouldn’t be that hard.
Do not be a copy cat- I request you all not to copy and then paste contents posted by others. It is just not acceptable. Come up with your own article and be original.
Do not be selfish- If someone is coming to you with a question on blogging(newbies probably), always help. You will loose nothing. What is theirs is theirs and what is yours, no one can take. So be helpful to new fellow bloggers as much as you can.
Do not spam- While I mentioned earlier that commenting on others’ blogs is very good, it doesn’t at all mean that you go and start dropping all your links under their posts. Drop them a genuine comment instead of “Great post! check out my blog , twitter ,instagram etc and link link links. No, don’t do that. It’s rude and trust me no one likes that and you will most likely loose a potential reader. No one likes a spammer. However, once you are done with your natural comment, you can simply write down below your comment a link to your blog and that’s it.
Do not back out from commitment- If you are part of a bloggers’ group where everyone needs to follow eachother, it is actually a commitment. You are following because either you want to be followed back or you are returning someone’s favor. So how can you even think of un-following later? don’t do that that’s not fair. No any fan/followers of yours will be bothered with the number of following you have nor any PR’s ,so don’t be obsessed with that.
Do not bully- Do not bully fellow bloggers, do not message the established bloggers with questions such as “how do you get free products, how do get invited to events, how do you have such huge followers etc” . While there is no harm in asking, I believe there is a right time and place for such questions. e.g You can’t just drop queries to bloggers on their personal accounts on Facebook, you cannot bombard them with several emails of such nature , it is just not right. First of all, you need to be a blogger first and blog for at least a year before you even think of getting freebies from Sephora. If you get anything earlier, you are lucky. You need to build your network first, interact with fellow bloggers and find that Star Blogger whom you look up to and think might be able to help and then approach them through emails or any other way you guys are already familiar with.(in my case, I’d like to do a special mention to Cat of Mylipaddiction Karen of Confettiandcurves, they are my Star Bloggers) Not all bloggers will entertain and help you. Yes, it’s a reality not everyone is comfortable sharing their “knowledge” with everyone , so if yo do anything like that you are actually being a bully.
Do not be jealous- Jealousy is a very ruining but is also a reality and is very common. Seeing a new comer doing a good job and is moving ahead with success faster than you do, can cause jealousy but use this as motivation & inspiration to do a better job. Do not let jealousy take you down instead be constructive and work harder.
Do not ignore your family ❤– Last but not the least do not ignore your personal life. While blogging can be too demanding, it is not that overwhelming if you are organized. Set a time for your blog work and stick to that routine. Make use of your time the best way you can , post pictures on Instagram while peeing. LOL(kidding) Be organized so none of your loved ones is neglected.
Hope this post helped. If it did, don’t forget to tweet this post and share with your followers. 🙂
I wanted to do some de-cluttering earlier today and ended up playing with another amazing product from GlamGals. Whew! I wish I had so much time to try out the glitters with different nail colors but I’m still happy with how much I did. Today I have with you another pocket -friendly beautifying product for your nails that is the GlamGals Professional Glitterati nails. I have talked about GlamGals in my previous post that how impressed I am with the quality of their products and packaging for the price they offer. I received quite a few items from them and decided to review them one by one starting with my most favorite product the Dual Lip gloss and today my 2nd fave product. ❤
This time I will just go ahead with the review and pass on with the packaging as I have talked a lot about it already.
So this one has the colored nail polish on one end and the glitter nail polish on the other end. You can wear them alone separately or with each other. I have tried wearing only the red, then red with glitter on one nail ,then glitter all over the reds and lastly used the glitters on top of while nail paint. It is up to you how to use it. Just play with it and be creative. For me glitters are always my top most choice as you do not need a lot of hard work applying them and it gives that oomphy look in just few seconds. Not to mention all the hard work you need in removing them. 😛
If you guys are following me on Instagram and Facebook, you must have seen the pictures I posted of the beauty products sent to me by GlamGals for reviewing. Mini reviews have also been posted. Thanks to this awesome company, I’ve been introduced to another range of beauty goodies that I get to try and like. Liked or loved, that we will find out as I share my reviews.
Today I have for you, the GlamGals Color Stay Dual Lip Gloss. If you have noticed, I have been adding lots of videos in my blog posts. I really enjoy the few seconds video I make to show the product, I think you get an idea of how the product actually looks like through video not unless you have captured a very good picture. But since I am still learning to do product photo shoot, bear with my video craze. 😛 I think I can take decent pictures but the silver packaging of this product just challenged me a lot. LOL
Name: Color Stay Dual Lip Gloss
Unlike any other lip gloss I ever held in my hands, this surely was heavier. Normally, I barely feel I’m even holding anything but this one was screaming “Hello, I’m here!” The tube came in a silver box with all necessary details printed on like ingredients, labels, application tips, address, production/expiry date etc. The lip gloss tube is of very good quality plastic material, reminds me of my acrylic drawers. Since it is dual ended, one end has the colored lip gloss and the other end with the transparent one.
What they say: Triple effects- Condition, Moisturizing and Long stay all day wear with 3D Diamond Shine.
On one end, you get the colored pigment and on the other end is a transparent product that is supposed to moisturize your lips. It is a beautiful red shade , the formula is perfect not too thick and not too thin, covers the lips’ own pigmentation, glides on very well and applies evenly. The transparent end of the lip gloss is a very shiny liquid which has exactly the consistency you need.
How to apply: Apply the colored lip gloss on lips, wait for about 2 minutes then coat it with the moisturizing lip gloss.
I wore only the lip gloss for 2 days, the whole day and it is very good on its own only. If you are a fan of matte lips, you will be happy with it this way. It is not drying and do not chap your lips. I was a bit skeptical using the moisturizing lip gloss at first as I thought the brush might pick most of the red color, but it actually did the opposite. It was very easy to apply without smudging my red pigment and it actually felt very good on the lips. I felt it actually moisturized my lips at the same time giving my lips that non-overwhelming spark.
cruelty-free (has a bunny on its box)
moisturising but not sticky
good quality at affordable price
15 shades to choose from
Very light smell when applying, not really that bothering as it fades away very quickly

I know ,this is a very old product and I am too late to review and swatch as probably all of you must have owned this already ,if not ,at least are aware of this product. But I just had to bring it out once again as “Strobing” is so much in nowadays. With strobing conquering the whole beauty world, how can I just ignore a highlighter? So I decided to bring to you different highlighters that I already own and plan to own shortly 😛 and review them. For today, I have the Urban Decay Naked Flushed in the shade Streak.
The box looks like any Urban Decay makeup product. That is their signature look probably, you don’t even need to read and you will just know it is from Urban Decay. The back of the box mentions everything about the product in the palette one in English and one in another language.
These are the sides of the box where you will find all the necessary details such as ingredients , location etc. Nothing new or special with the ingredients, they are pretty much the same as any other bronzer, blush or highlighter.
The palette consists of powdered bronzer, highlighter and blush. The bronzer is brown with a bit of orangish undertone. Highlighter is sort of pinkish which I think is just perfect for any skin tone. The blush is a very beautiful peachy shade. The colors are no doubt, very pigmented but …so here comes the “but” ! They are too powdery, though they feel very soft, velvety and creamy. When I swipe my brush on the palette, I can see a lot of powder accumulating on the sides which is a total turn off for me considering the worth of the product. It is a high-end brand, people, for the amount we pay , I at least expect perfection. I use my Sleek Blush palettes a lot and those palettes never had any kind of fall outs. Sleek palettes cost around AED65 here in UAE and UD Naked Flushed AED235(approx). With this price difference, I have the right to demand a lot!
I will link Check out the video to view a live swatch of this palette so you can see for yourself.
Longevity: UD Naked Flushed Blush longer but the highlighter and bronzer is

I have always been someone who stayed away from Beauty Salons. It isn’t that I have anything against them, but I just do not have the patience to sit there for hours and let them do all the stuff to me. I dread the moment when I cannot move because someone is working on my face or nails and I might just make them uncomfortable or injure myself or whatever. I want to move all the time, walk, run,fly (okay not really fly) but I want to be free. I am so impatient when it comes to getting pampered at salons.
Besides this, I love to do hair , face, nail, body care myself. The fact that I am doing something for myself feels so good. My skin and body needs my attention and I have to give that no matter what. Being a mom of 2, it was very difficult to take out time for myself and it was a struggle. Believe me, a very difficult step to take. If you are a mom, you would understand what I am talking about. But eventually I learned to deal with the difficulties I faced. Once a woman becomes a mom, it doesn’t at all means you have to just give up on everything and focus on parenting. Parenting should be priority,of course, but if you are “fit” then you have a happy family.
There was a time when I gave my 100% to my kids , not a single percentage to husband even, I felt somewhat miserable but wasn’t actually aware of it. There is always that “one day” in everyone’s life when things become clear in front of you and you just know what to do next. I knew that not only my kids, but my husband needs my time, my house needs my time, my in-laws and every body part of my life needs a part of me. Life is too short to cut off myself from all of these. I knew I had to balance things. I knew I had to look pleasant when my eldest daughter started appreciating my beauty when I do my hair. This is just one example. I knew that if I take care of myself, end result is a happy family. So I did it.
It was difficult but not impossible. Now my kids are going to school, so I have the first part of the day to pamper myself. I do not need to do that pampering daily , but yes, skin care is important and should be done daily. If you are interested in my skin care routine, click here.
If your kids are still very young for school ,they are with you 24 x 7, take out time for yourself when they are playing or napping. There is time for you , you just need to make THAT effort. There is NOTHING in the world that can stop you from taking care of yourself but only you.
So keeping track of everything sometimes becomes hard as I have million of things to do and forgetting something is what I don’t want. Skin care has to be consistent. So what I do to make my life easier is I created a planner and stuck it on my washroom mirror to remind me of what I have to do next.
All of us have different skin types and our skin has a certain requirement of care depending on our age. I am over 30 years already so I decided to do complete facial twice a month, I exfoliate maximum thrice a week and use mask 2 or 3 times a week. If you are under 25 years, I suggest apply scrub and mask once a week only and full facial once a month.
So this is my Face Care schedule for the month of September, it is never too late to plan your next steps.
I will keep you all posted for my Nail , Body and Hair Care planners too. ❤
