How To Use These Makeup Brushes For Face

makeupbrush-powderbrushI tried my best! Trust me. But these are the least that I can show :/ There were many in my collection. So, don’t be bored if the video has become really very long as I tried giving extra information and tips but due to time, I had to just omit some parts 😦 I hope this will help in any way.

Featuring in this video are all makeup brushes you will find in makeup brush sets, what they are used for and which ones worked for me.

These are flat foundation brush , if you want , you can try with it but I am not able to use it for foundation instead I use it to apply face mask, concealer & cream contour.

These are some of the brushes I mentioned in the video. To see the complete video, click here. Here is a suggestion for everyone, if you are a beginner, I suggest go for an affordable makeup brush sets, they are equally of good quality as high-end. Do not splurge on high-end, first try from the drugstore which ones suit you. Drugstore makeup brushes are also of extraordinary quality, they will give you the same result as any other brushes will. Never think that if you are using MAC , then only you will get flawless results because it is totally wrong. Achieving flawless makeup is by the technique and product you use not your brush. My makeup brushes are mostly from the Drugstore because I am very satisfied with them. No complains whatsoever , so check down below my suggestions.

  1. Bh Cosmetics Brush sets
  2. Coastal Scents Brush sets
  3. Morphe Brushes
  4. Real Techniques.

I also have bought some sets which is not of any well-known brand such as Make Up For You. If you get your hands on one of these sets, then use it! Regarding shedding of bristles even two of my Sigma brushes started shedding after my first wash. Moral of the story, go for affordable ones with good quality. The brands I mentioned above are the ones providing us with reliable quality brushes.

Note: Make sure to clean your brushes every week. This is how I clean.

Best Oil for Hair Growth & Prevent Hair Fall

Disclaimer: While this oil is very effective and showed results, it might not be the case for everyone. But there is no harm in giving it a try.

This is my first port related to “Hair Care” and I thought it to be the best time to share with you all some of my favorite oils that I have used for myself as well as kids. Well, let’s include hubby dear too. I have years and years of relationship with these oils, I use them for different purposes but today is all about hair care so let’s get started. Women’s most common issue is hair fall specially after having kids and if you live in U.A.E, you’d know what I’m talking about. The water here is the main cause for hair fall. There may be other reasons for hair fall like stress, too much dandruff or inadequate attention towards hair ,we need to work on this as soon as possible or we will end up being bald. If not cured, it will just worsen. This is the reason people complain of less volume in hair. It’s a process, excessive hair fall leads to less hair! So I tried many oils but to be honest I become impatient after a month when I do not see obvious improvement. That’s the reason I keep experimenting and trying different oils.

Just so you know, I do not use any hair products such as hair spray, I do not use any kind of serums for ironing or curling (because I do not do them)The only products that I ever applied on my hair are shampoo, conditioner and hair oils. I have naturally thick, silky and soft hair but everything was ruined after I had baby. I had too much of hair fall and I didn’t attend to it immediately thinking it will be “fine” on its own. Don’t make this mistake.

So, finally I’m able to create my very own mixtures of oils that suited my hair because just after using it for one month only, I can see a difference. I’m not saying huge difference, but there is definitely one. I applied this daily on the first week, showered daily but applied shampoo only thrice a week but if I need to shampoo in between I use baby shampoo(by the way our family use baby shampoo hoping it has less chemicals). From the 2nd week on wards, I apply it on alternate days.

What you need:

  • Almond Oil- 80ml OR 1/3 cup (available at LULU)
  • Coconut Oil- 80ml OR 1/3 cup (Lulu & Carrefour)
  • Castor Oil- 1 tbsp    (Lulu & Carrefour)
  • Black Seed Oil- 1 tbsp   (Lulu & Carrefour)
  • Empty Bottle- Daiso
  • Measuring cup

The above info on where to buy the oils is for the residents of the UAE

Method:

Mix all 4 oils in one bottle and shake gently.

Note: Take equal portions of Almond and Coconut oil OR if you prefer, you can take more of coconut oil and lesser almond oil and adjust the rest of the measurement.

Just play around with the measurement according to what you think is your hair’s need. It is totally safe. Sometimes I take more coconut oil as it is my favorite for hair growth. 🙂

Bloggers Award

index pink-circle-hi

Hah!! Finally got to do awards related post after ages. Sorry guys for the delay. It might have taken 2 months for me to post but I did!! It’s always great to be nominated for different awards as I feel appreciated, noticed and this is a way to interact with fellow blogger and help each other.

So Lindsay nominated me for two awards and Mirror the love nominated me for one but I decided to merge both the awards as they are the same ad I feel so happy that through these awards, I discovered two more amazing blogs that I can go to during my coffee time. Interesting stuff to read and fabulous pictures. You guys should check them out. Go ,go go. 😀

Award #1 The Premio Dardos Award

The rules are:

  1. Thank the giver and link their blog to your post.
  2. Pass the award on to other bloggers of your choice and let them know that they have been nominated.

Award #2 The Beauty Blogger Award

Rules:
1) State the name of the blogger that nominated you.
2) Answer the questions you were given.
3) Nominate 10 people whose blog is about beauty or fashion.
4) Make 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
5) Let the bloggers know that you nominated them.

Lindsay’s Questions for me and my answers 😀

  1. How long does it take to do your makeup on a regular day?

15 to 20 minutes if simple eye makeup, no contouring and correcting.

2.Smokey eye or natural for a special event?

Smokey all the way…<3

3.What brand of makeup brushes do you prefer?

BH Cosmetics, Good quality at affordable price.

4. Do you ever go makeup free?

Yes, many times. In fact most of the time.

5. What is one makeup product you wish companies would improve and why (nail polish, lipstick, blush, etc.)?

Many to mention. Not really improve but stop bringing to the market like lip concealer, lip primer, eye primer, I feel they are not really necessary. Bronzer and powder contouring products should be the same and not separate, why make people spend unnecessary and on top of that makeup became confusing due to this.

6. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?

I was 25, eyeliner and lipstick only. I started wearing full makeup at the age of 28.

7. What’s your best tip for perfect eyeshadow blending?

Get the right blending brush, blend till your fingers hurt but not eyes. 😛

8.What brand of foundation is the best?

Many. But my favorite foundation has been my Karaja pore minimiser ,so for me it is the best. Otherwise Loreal and Maybelline has some really good foundation.

9. Who is your makeup idol?

I look up to Nikki tutorials on Youtube. I would want to be able to do makeup like she does.

10. What’s your favorite mascara brand?

Loreal, Burjouis and essence.

Makeup Series- Lips Routine for Beginners

Finally we are here today for the last segment of the Makeup Series for Beginners and I had a step by step post on how to apply makeup a month ago and split it up into different segments. Foundation Routine, Eye Routine and today we have the Lips Routine.

You will find below how I apply my lipstick/lip gloss and what steps I follow when preparing my lips for that.

Steps in order:

  1. Exfoliate lips- Make it a habit to exfoliate your lips. Lipstick makes dry and chapped lips more visible hence to avoid that, exfoliate regularly. While there are many lip exfoliators/scrubs available in the market, I use my very own home-made lip scrub. Do you want to make your own too? Click the picture to know how.

DIY- LIP EXFOLIATORCondition Lips-

2. Condition Lips- Always condition your lips. Keep it hydrated all the time to avoid gross flaky dry skin. There are plenty of lip conditioners and balms in the market and one very reasonable option for that is Vaseline also known as Petroleum Jelly. You do not have to spend a fortune on lip balms. You can find it in all price range. My favorite lip balm at the moment is from Utama Spice. click the picture below to know why.

Utama Spice Lip Balm

  3. Line lips- Lining my lips is very important for me. By doing this, I am giving my lips a more defined shape and outline at the same time prevents lipstick from smearing around lips. Make this a habit and always include in your makeup routine. Use lip liner that matches your lipstick shade ,if not the closest.

Lip liner suggestions: Get any lip liner from drugstore to high-end, it doesn’t really matter as they perform the same way. I have from NYX, Essence, NARS, Misslyn etc.

4. Apply lipstick / lip gloss- Last step is to apply your desired lipstick or lip gloss. Lip products come either with matte or glossy finish. It is totally on you which you prefer. Nowadays I am more into matte lipsticks as I find them more long-lasting and they hold on to your lips very well that they don’t smear all over. I like the look of matte more but occasionally I love wearing my glossy lipsticks too if I go for light eye makeup , I like keeping my lipstick dark and shiny then. The same way, Lip glosses nowadays have come in matte formula and is very much “in” and are commonly known as  Lip cremes. L.A Girl matte lip pigments are my favorites. Click the picture to know why. While lip cremes are ruling over the beauty world currently, one cannot resist the charm of lip gloss. The touch of that shine is what a girl needs most of the time. So always experiment and understand what you like. As I mentioned earlier, there is no rules to makeup.  You can even give your glossy lips a touch of matte by following this method.

L.A Girl matte lipgloss
L.A Girl matte lipgloss

Lipstick/lipgloss suggestions: NYX,  Maybelline have very good options of lip products both matte and glossy , however you can find equally good in other brands like L.A Girl, Sleek, Mikyaji, Givenchy, Anastasia Beverly Hills etc.

You just need to explore the market and do not hesitate to try to experiment on new products as you will find hidden gems there. ❤

Other lip products such as lip primer and lip concealer are very unnecessary in my point of view. Apply your lip liner all over lips , it will act as base for your lipstick and will cover your lips’ natural pigmentation acting as lip concealer.

Motivational Posts- My Facial Care Planner

I have always been someone who stayed away from Beauty Salons. It isn’t that I have anything against them, but I just do not have the patience to sit there for hours and let them do all the stuff to me. I dread the moment when I cannot move because someone is working on my face or nails and I might just make them uncomfortable or injure myself or whatever. I want to move all the time, walk, run,fly (okay not really fly) but I want to be free. I am so impatient when it comes to getting pampered at salons.

Besides this, I love to do hair , face, nail, body care myself. The fact that I am doing something for myself feels so good. My skin and body needs my attention and I have to give that no matter what. Being a mom of 2, it was very difficult to take out time for myself and it was a struggle. Believe me, a very difficult step to take. If you are a mom, you would understand what I am talking about. But eventually I learned to deal with the difficulties I faced. Once a woman becomes a mom, it doesn’t at all means you have to just give up on everything and focus on parenting. Parenting should be priority,of course, but if you are “fit” then you have a happy family.

There was a time when I gave my 100% to my kids , not a single percentage to husband even, I felt somewhat miserable but wasn’t actually aware of it. There is always that “one day” in everyone’s life when things become clear in front of you and you just know what to do next. I knew that not only my kids, but my husband needs my time, my house needs my time, my in-laws and every body part of my life needs a part of me. Life is too short to cut off myself from all of these. I knew I had to balance things. I knew I had to look pleasant when my eldest daughter started appreciating my beauty when I do my hair. This is just one example. I knew that if I take care of myself, end result is a happy family. So I did it.

It was difficult but not impossible. Now my kids are going to school, so I have the first part of the day to pamper myself. I do not need to do that pampering daily , but yes, skin care is important and should be done daily. If you are interested in my skin care routine, click here.

If your kids are still very young for school ,they are with you 24 x 7, take out time for yourself when they are playing or napping. There is time for you , you just need to make THAT effort. There is NOTHING in the world that can stop you from taking care of yourself but only you.

So keeping track of everything sometimes becomes hard as I have million of things to do and forgetting something is what I don’t want. Skin care has to be consistent. So what I do to make my life easier is I created a planner and stuck it on my washroom mirror to remind me of what I have to do next.

All of us have different skin types and our skin has a certain requirement of care depending on our age. I am over 30 years already so I decided to do complete facial twice a month, I exfoliate  maximum thrice a week and use mask 2 or 3 times a week. If you are under 25 years, I suggest apply scrub and mask once a week only and full facial once a month.

Review & Swatch – Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer from Stunzzle Glam

So I did a purchase from this online Store on Facebook ,Stunzzle Glam and received this beautiful lip product as a gift from them. I love it when I receive goodies along with my order. Who doesn’t? It was my first time ordering from them and my experience was very good, I was attended to very nicely and my stuff arrived in perfect condition. So if you live in U.A.E, go ahead and check them on Facebook as they have lots of makeup that you might like. Review time now!

So I received Makeup Revolution Velvet Lip Laquer in the shade in Keep Crying For You.

With all the news flying around about almost every brand releasing their range of matte lip cream/matte lip gloss or whatever you can call it,I was so glad to receive one and that too from a brand I haven’t tried yet. Well I tried their eyeshades but this is the first lip product ever from this brand.

The packaging looks really good. Nothing cheap about it at all. The box has all the information one needs about the product.

makeuprevolutionIt comes in a plastic tube just like other lip gloss in the drugstore range. I love how it looks. When I see good products , I enjoy taking their pictures by the way:D

The shade is beautiful pink with orange undertone. I actually avoid such colors as I feel it doesn’t suit me at all. With my skin tone, I feel such colors make me darker. :/ So I kept it and I’ll gift it to my baby sister. I’m sure she will be happy to own this amazing lippie. This reminded me a lot of the Lipstuck shade from Wojooh, that was a bit lighter though.

The product has a very good pigmentation, glides on easily on the lips but dries quickly so you need to be quick in applying it. Once it dried, the color became more intense which was really lovely. What I didn’t like was it made my lips dry. I already have naturally dry lips and the least I would want is having any product making my lips drier. So I applied lip gloss on top and it was all okay. But for a person like me, I am not into lip gloss at all and I know I can’t put up with the whole process of coating it with gloss hence, decided to “not own it”. Staying power is good though and I’m sure it will be a perfect gift the next time a see my sister. 😀

Thank you Stunzzle Glam for this beautiful gift. ❤ Highly appreciate the gesture.
