Here you go guys, another home-made recipe for you skin. This would suit all skin types and is beneficial for acne prone , dry and sensitive skin too. Even for normal skin types, this mask will do no one any harm and instead is very good as oatmeal contains amino acids that are beneficial for skin’s health, it is hypoallergenic which means even the most problematic skin can benefit and is a very good moisturizer when combined with other ingredients.
So let’s do skincare today, I guess too much of makeup already. Though we can’t have enough of makeup, let me remind you all that skincare is a must to get a flawless makeup finish. Even if you are not into makeup, you still need to pay attention to your skin to keep it healthy and at least delay aging. Am I making sense? Yeah, I know I do.
Today’s post is something that I have been asked a lot and so I thought why not summarize everything as I do not want to go into the details of each and every teeny part of it. To be honest, I don’t understand and you won’t even understand if you go to the technicalities of everything. So what I will share with you are points that I believe is very easy to understand by everyone.
Been seeing this product for a while now and I believe the first I saw was from Clarisonic, but the idea of paying a lot for something I wasn’t sure would work for me though the reviews were very good, made it impossible for me to buy one. The idea of having a giant toothbrush rubbed on my face was a bit weird. But curiosity can kill seriously! I kept doing my research , I even found the cheap China version of these brushes which was around AED25 but I couldn’t just get myself to use that too. Can’t risk on my skin.

My love for face masks is never-ending. I end up buying face masks every time I go for skincare products shopping. Even though I already have plenty , still I can’t get enough of it. So when Vivian of Nu Skin offered to send me some samples of their products to try out, I just couldn’t resist as 2 out of 3 items were something I fancied a lot. Who doesn’t want to try new products by the way. So I happily accepted and I am now here with the results. ❤
So today I have for you all, Epoch Glacial Marine Mud . It is a mask not only suitable for your face but body as well. Isn’t that amazing.
Details from the website:
A simple and natural way to softer, smoother toned skin. Revitalising clay mask with sea botanicals draws out dirt and impurities from the skin. Contains extremely fine mud particles and leaves skin feeling fresh, renewed and healthy-looking. Suitable for all skin types.
Glacial Marine Mud (Maris limus)—obtained from a remote glacial estuary in the Pacific Northwest, absorbs impurities from skin (dirt, dead cells, excess oil) without robbing precious moisture. This skin-beneficial mud is homogenized to increase its absorption powers and provide ideal consistency
Best thing about facial masks are, you get the result instantly. You apply it and when process is done, you can tell immediately if the product is working for you or not. But I always believe in maintaining everything you do. Maintain and be consistent with what you have started for longer and effective results. In my case, I use masks to treat my pores, deep cleanse and remove excess oil, which is most of the masks do. Though I can immediately tell whether a product is working for me or not on the first application itself, I always continue and have a proper schedule for this routine, to maintain what I started or I will have clogged pores again causing it to look huge!
Very few masks show you a very satisfying result on the very first use. Epoch Glacial Marine Mud mask is one of them.
This picture was taken the very first time I used it. You can see the magic yourself. It did suck the dirt out of the core of my pores seriously! The makeup freak I am, most of the days my face has to bear the burden of all the makeup products I wear, one can imagine how much of cleaning I need to do. Specially when you have pores ,you need to give it attention and not ignore it. This mask minimized the visibility of my pores. My pores do look smaller than usual and now I am on my 3rd time use. Do not expect pores to disappear as no product would do that not unless you go for any kind of surgery. But this kind of results is not less than any magic to me as I have tried many masks and very few gave such results.
How to apply:
1. Wash your face with your favorite face wash.
2. Apply mask with fingers or flat foundation brush ,all over face except for eyes and lips.
3. Do not bring it any closer to your eyes specially the under eye area.
4. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes.
5. Wash it off and dry using a soft towel.
6. Apply moisturiser.
1. Easy to use
2. Gives instant result
3. Mask not only for face but body as well
4. Can treat wounds
5. Lots of benefits such as reviving youthful skin, deep cleanses, removes black and white heads(if you have any other color of heads, I’m sure this product will work wonders on that too ).
6. The minerals in it helps a lot with giving you a healthy skin.
7. The mud has property to attract water hence leaving it hydrated.
8. suitable for Men and women.
1. The Price. If I convert the price to AED, I find the price to be very high as compare to high-end brands here that offers masks ( not sure if they give the same best result as this mask does)
2. Not available in UAE but best part is, they can ship anywhere in this world.
In my case , I will definitely spend that much on this product because of obvious reasons and it is not a one time use only. The product is to be used once a week only(advisable) and considering this, in my case it will last for 3 months. So spending a bit more on a mask that works wonders for 3 months is a good enough reason.

*This product was sent to me for reviewing. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this post is mine and honestly written.
I have always been someone who stayed away from Beauty Salons. It isn’t that I have anything against them, but I just do not have the patience to sit there for hours and let them do all the stuff to me. I dread the moment when I cannot move because someone is working on my face or nails and I might just make them uncomfortable or injure myself or whatever. I want to move all the time, walk, run,fly (okay not really fly) but I want to be free. I am so impatient when it comes to getting pampered at salons.
Besides this, I love to do hair , face, nail, body care myself. The fact that I am doing something for myself feels so good. My skin and body needs my attention and I have to give that no matter what. Being a mom of 2, it was very difficult to take out time for myself and it was a struggle. Believe me, a very difficult step to take. If you are a mom, you would understand what I am talking about. But eventually I learned to deal with the difficulties I faced. Once a woman becomes a mom, it doesn’t at all means you have to just give up on everything and focus on parenting. Parenting should be priority,of course, but if you are “fit” then you have a happy family.
There was a time when I gave my 100% to my kids , not a single percentage to husband even, I felt somewhat miserable but wasn’t actually aware of it. There is always that “one day” in everyone’s life when things become clear in front of you and you just know what to do next. I knew that not only my kids, but my husband needs my time, my house needs my time, my in-laws and every body part of my life needs a part of me. Life is too short to cut off myself from all of these. I knew I had to balance things. I knew I had to look pleasant when my eldest daughter started appreciating my beauty when I do my hair. This is just one example. I knew that if I take care of myself, end result is a happy family. So I did it.
It was difficult but not impossible. Now my kids are going to school, so I have the first part of the day to pamper myself. I do not need to do that pampering daily , but yes, skin care is important and should be done daily. If you are interested in my skin care routine, click here.
If your kids are still very young for school ,they are with you 24 x 7, take out time for yourself when they are playing or napping. There is time for you , you just need to make THAT effort. There is NOTHING in the world that can stop you from taking care of yourself but only you.
So keeping track of everything sometimes becomes hard as I have million of things to do and forgetting something is what I don’t want. Skin care has to be consistent. So what I do to make my life easier is I created a planner and stuck it on my washroom mirror to remind me of what I have to do next.
All of us have different skin types and our skin has a certain requirement of care depending on our age. I am over 30 years already so I decided to do complete facial twice a month, I exfoliate maximum thrice a week and use mask 2 or 3 times a week. If you are under 25 years, I suggest apply scrub and mask once a week only and full facial once a month.
So this is my Face Care schedule for the month of September, it is never too late to plan your next steps.
I will keep you all posted for my Nail , Body and Hair Care planners too. ❤

Love yourself , you are beautiful! ❤
Finally I am here now ,so much ready for my detailed review on Jane Iredale Products I received in the starter kit that had been sent to me by Basharacare. Check out my previous post for details on the kit and Basharacare. I took my time because I had to use the products first before I come to you and say what I think about them.
Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base- Golden Glow
What the brand says about this “Our multi-tasking foundations provide four important functions in one: foundation, concealer, sunscreen and active skincare benefits”
Somehow this brand have won my trust. I don’t know how , but it definitely has. You can actually tell the difference between products with just chemicals and the ones that are light on skin. Now this base is best used with damp foundation brush. I use my buffing brush for this , you can use beauty blender, flat foundation brush or any brush of your choice as long as it is damp. When applied dry , it doesn’t really show up that much but when applied with damp applicator, it gives you good coverage. By good coverage I mean, normal to medium. It pretty much evens your skin tone. It feels very light on skin and refreshing. The best makeup base when you are in a hurry and easy to carry because of its size. I had this base on for minimum of 4 hours every time I wore it and it was as good by the end of the day. After applying the base, apply any pressed powder or loose powder to lock it otherwise you can skip this too if you have dry skin. You do not need any extra foundation for this but if you feel the need of concealer , then go ahead with that. Proceed with the rest of the makeup process then.
Jane Iredale Amazing Base – Golden Glow
This , to be honest I found very unnecessary in the kit. Since the pressed powder is already there, then there wasn’t really any need of adding this. I wish they added a blush or bronzer instead of this. I tried using this as a setting powder on top of the pressed powder base, but still ended up using my loose powder as it didn’t serve the purpose at all. However, if you are someone who want very light makeup on ,almost natural at the same time give a mattifying effect then go ahead and apply with a buffing brush or powder brush on top of your face primer or moisturiser.
Jane Iredale Pommisst Hydration Spray
What the brand says “All skin types crave moisture. Give yours a drink overflowing with nourishing botanicals, antioxidants and skin protectors.
My report: This is my first time using any hydration spray and I already am loving the experience. Since I have just used one brand of this product so I’d say I love Jane Iredale’s Pommisst hydration spray. The size is prefect. With the heat here in Dubai, having this spray in my purse has been very helpful and am definitely going to purchase one as soon as I’m out of this. You spray it on bare face or with make up on, it feels very refreshing and the scent is just perfect not too strong and not too light. My face felt very fresh and hydrated for couple of hours after spraying.
P.S It didn’t ruin my makeup at all 🙂
Jane Iredale smooth affair Facial Primer & Brightener-
I am not into face primers that much and I can go about doing my whole makeup without it to be honest. But I did use this a lot because I really liked it. It is not like other primers that I have used. I didn’t feel the silicon nor feel the oily thing that other face primers give. This feels exactly like a lotion, refreshing and smoothing. Whenever I apply face primer, I feel like my skin is suffocated not able to breathe , I guess it’s because of the property in it that covers your skin with a layer to prevent natural oil from appearing and minimize pores. But this one feels just like a moisturiser. If you are a face primer kind of person, you won’t like this because you will not find what you are looking for . But it worked for me because I usually use my moisturiser as my primer. ❤ This one is a must have for me. I love it.
I do recommend you all to try out this brand. Not all are familiar, even I wasn’t too but the fact that it is a “skincare makeup” is totally a bonus points for makeup lovers. What else can you ask for , you get to have makeup that nourishes your skin at the same time.
I got this from Basharacare.com
So if you are in U.A.E do check them out as they I have a good variety of this brand.

DIY’s has been one of my favorite! You must have noticed by now, how I share with you all few DIY I know in my blog. Reading fellow bloggers’ blogs has been part of my blogging routine and that is where I found this amazing blog The Remedy Genie.

Acne and Pimple Face Wash
Remember when you went through puberty and you suffered from the pimple breakouts or the acne? You finally hit that age where you thought it was all over and then breathed a sigh of relief, only to find out you were pretty wrongly mistaken. Unfortunately pimple break outs is something we experience most of our lives, here and there, for various reasons. Acne sufferers can barely get a break from pimples. I have friends who have suffered from acne for years, trying dozens of different acne treatments and pills and creams… it’s really never ending.
So I researched all the causes and reasons for acne and pimples, in hope to find natural ingredients that will basically fight against pimples. I have come up with a great home remedy for acne and pimple face wash using all natural ingredients, probably already in your kitchen.
This recipes is really simple and its suds free. If you feel the needs for suds, you can add 1 teaspoon of liquid castile soap, it is all natural and made from coconut oil.
Simply mix 1 tablespoon of honey with ½ tea spoon of cinnamon.
Make sure your hair it’s tied back tightly.
Rub the mixture all over your face, rub it in really well for a good couple of minutes. You can let it sit for 2 minutes after rubbing it in to let it soak up a little or just rinse it off if you are in a hurry. Pat your skin dry, it is very important to never wipe and only pat!
Honey is anti-bacterial, which cleans your skin , removes dead skin, excess oil build up and kills away the bacteria that causes the acne and pimples. It also provides you skin with natural moisture without causing it to produce excess oil to compensate for dryness. I recommend this face wash twice a day and I recommend to follow it with the topical application and face cream, you can find the links above.
I hope this home remedy for acne and pimple face wash helps you. So far I have had great feedback from friends but as we know everyone is different. If you don’t have luck with this please let me know, I do have other natural alternative remedies and would love to help.

I don’t know why it took me two months to post about my favorite face scrubs. Maybe I just wanted to use and try them more before bringing them in front of you all. Face scrub is one of the most important part of my skin care regimen. As I have combination skin and mostly oily in the hot season, I love scrubbing my face due to the immediate result I get after doing so. Soft and smooth skin!
What is a face scrub?
A skin care product that removes dead cells accumulating on your skin , cleans the inside of the pores and makes your skin smooth ,soft and gives it a healthy glow.
When do we need it? How often should we scrub our face?
Once or twice a week should be enough for normal skin. I do it thrice as my skin gets so oily in summers and becomes very dull most of the time. I have a combination to oily skin and my skin goes crazy with the weather hence scrubbing my face helps my skin bring back the glow and remove dullness. Scrubbing is also called Exfoliating.
Moving on to my recommended face scrubs here is the first one:
1. Scrub Your Nose In It by Soap&Glory: The name is so tricky, at one moment I thought it is for nose and the first time I used it, I strictly followed the instructions written to apply it on a damp “T-zone”. With this , I was more convinced it is for my nose! I rubbed it gently all over my T-zone area and left it on for 2 minutes and rinsed. The result was amazing! I can see very less white heads(as I have no black heads) and my pores seemed to become tiny. I used it this way 2 or 3 times I guess, when I felt the urge of treating the rest of my face nicely, hence decided to apply it all over my face and from then onwards, I did it like that. Now that it is empty, then only I read the label where it is written that it is a “special pore refining formula FACIAL SCRUB”!!!! Ughh! How could I be so dumb.See that tiny line on top of the “SCRUB YOUR NOSE IN IT”
That’s so me by the way. Okay now that it is clear that it is actual a facial scrub, let me continue telling you all how much I love it.
The scrub inside is of thick consistency with very tiny pearls, that’s what I call the microbeads by the way, minty in color and feels so as well. I love how it does the work on my face. At times when I’m in a hurry, I just apply it on face in circular motion and rinse immediately without leaving it on for sometime and it still works perfectly. It has that fresh, minty sensation when on skin and that’s actually how I know it has started working on my skin. It does work wonders! You’ll see a huge difference once you start using.
Bought this for AED50 from Boots
P.S I had to click the picture of the empty tube just to show you how much I loved it that I used up even the last drop of it. Recommended by a dear friend Rustic Beauty
VLCC Pineapple & Papaya Gentle Exfoliating Scrub: When I saw this on the shelf while doing my grocery, I had no clue about how it is, how is it going to work etc when normally I look for reviews first before I purchase anything. What attracted me was “VLCC” as this brand was kind of a hit here and second thing that caught my attention was “Papaya” . Anything related to papaya means a “good skin”. At least that’s what I kept hearing from elders since my child hood. Hence, with not much of thoughts, I picked it.
It has tiny microbeads which doesn’t feel harsh at all on the skin, smells fruity and feels very light. By light, I mean you can easily tell it is not one of those very strong chemicalised beauty products that we dread on applying at times. Your skin won’t feel very dry or stretched after using, which makes it ideal for those with normal skin and not-too-oily.
Available in any supermarket in U.A.E
Tea Tree Witch Hazel Exfoliating Face Scrub: Been hearing a lot about tea tree oil’s benefits when it comes to skin, how can I just ignore the related products specially when you are at Boots. The sales lady told me this was a new product specially for oily skin. So I knew, I just had to get it. Besides the scrub, I bought face wash and facial toner of the same range. But I’m not going to be talking about the rest of the products here and instead concentrate on this scrub.
The consistency is a bit thin/liquidy due to which you’d feel the microbeads a bit harsh on your skin. So for this one, you need to keep a very light hand when applying and just do a very gentle little strokes in circular motion instead of “scrubbing” as you wouldn’t want to damage your skin. A very light touch is good enough to do the job. But the product is amazing guys. But be sure that you really have an oily skin before using this as it sucks the excess oil out of your skin.
Available in any Boots Pharmacy in U.A.E
Ranking the above in order of favorites :
1. Soap & Glory Scrub You Nose In It
2. Tea Tree Witch Hazel
3. VLCC Pineapple & Papaya
So we are done now with my recommendations of facial scrubs. In case you don’t know how to use, read ahead… 🙂
1. Wash your face with water.
2. Take ample amount of scrub and apply all over face, neck and if desired you can go down towards cleavage too.
3. Massage gently with light fingers , do it harder on your T-Zone.
4. Rinse thoroughly with water and pat dry.
5. Apply moisturiser.
Tips: Keep your scrub handy, somewhere easily accessible so you don’t forget to use. To be able to buy the effective and best scrub , you should first know your skin type. Exfoliating face helps make you skin care products work effectively on your skin as your skin is already very clean by the time you are done so the rest of the products will do their work properly
Hope you find this helpful, I’ll be sharing a home made recipe of facial scrub as I always try out natural remedies too. Previously I posted about home made lip exfoliator.
Sharing with you all my tried and tested magic home remedy to get rid of dandruff in an instant.
What is dandruff?
Small pieces of dead skin, which is kind of flaky on one’s head.
What causes dandruff?
There can be different reasons, but mainly:
- dry skin
- allergy to certain products
- yeast-like fungus
- not shampooing often enough
There are many anti-dandruff shampoos out there but not all work. I have very dry scalp and have dandruff most of the time. I can’t apply shampoo everyday and skipping shampoo even for 2 days makes things worst. So I had to just look for an alternate solution which won’t further make my scalp dry. I don’t exactly remember who told me about this home remedy, as I have been doing this for years. For sure it wasn’t Google.
My Home Remedy Treatment for Dandruff
1. Take yogurt (any plain one) as much as needed to cover the whole scalp while massaging very gently.
2. Apply generous amount all over head.
3. Leave it on for 20 to 25 minutes.
4. Rinse well with water and shampoo.
This is a guaranteed solution to get results in a jiffy. If you are having some skin condition, then this will not work and better consult a doctor for proper treatment.
Oil your head and massage gently at least twice a week and wash hair the very next day. Hot oiling is recommended once a week. It feels good as well as is very beneficial. ❤
Hope you find this helpful , if you do , please share. 🙂
