Seems like it’s been ages since I posted. I’m on holidays and the place where I am in has very unpredictable internet connection. So here is a quick post and that too from my cellphone .😅

Being on holidays with sisters is always fun. Lots of things to do and lots of makeup to play with. So I managed to make my sisters model for me. Here is makeup look#1

Wgat do you think of this look ? 😊 Do you fancy the lip color?

Hi beauties!

I just realized that I have a lot of pinks in my lipstick collection and some actually look so the same. So I swatched and remember the M.A.C lipstick I spoke about in this post, the Flat out Fabulous lipstick actually has similar shades with me.

Hope this might help someone looking to own MAC lipsticks but can’t afford, you need not worry and get yourself the affordable version of the lip product.

M.A.C vs Avon

The color is almost the same. Specially when on lips , you will only find out by the texture as MAC is purely matte while Avon lipstick has a little bit of sheen in it. Both lipsticks are not long lasting and the only way you can make it last longer is through this method.

M.A.C vs Mikyaji

Color is very much the same, however might look a bit different when on lips. Both are mattes but Mikyaji lasts longer. M.A.C glides on lips very easily as it is very creamy while Mikyaji is more of  a dry formula which makes application a bit difficult but not really bad. It is still a very good lipstick to own not necessarily as a dupe 🙂

M.A.C vs Wet n Wild

Wet n Wild Don’t blink pink is definitely the dupe. Both M.A.C and Wet n Wild lipsticks’ performance and texture are the same however Wet n Wild lippies lasts longer, way longer than M.A.C.

DSC_6141klMAC lipstick is a matte one while Avon isn’t so you can see the difference in their texture or finish. Avon appears to be a bit glossy but it isn’t really that glossy but not matte too as MAC.

So what I did was dab a little bit of powder on the Avon lipstick to make it matte and see if the colors are still similar. so our dupe lipstick here has become lighter pink. so I guess if you want to have the same color as MAC then leave it as it is and don’t mess with the finish.

wetnwildpinksSome more of the pinks in my collection which I found very similar to the MAC lipstick and these 3 lipsticks are all mattes.

Quick Makeup Stencils

Hi Peeps!!!

As you all know, if you have been following my blog, that I am focusing on “makeup for beginners” issues and share my knowledge with them. So in this search, I came to know about this store Quick Makeup Stencils on that I found so interesting. I messaged them and Valya was so kind to send me some of their best products to try. I received from them Quick Makeup stencils and Quick eyeliner stickies. They dealt with me very nicely and I’m so happy with their customer service.

Though I’m not a stencil kind of person at all and I have seen many eyebrow stencils out there but never felt the urge to buy them, what this store offered was different and immediately caught my attention as it was actually stencils to apply eyeshadows and eyeliner. What could be better than getting that perfect cat winged eyeliner in very less time specially when you’re a beginner. I knew I just had to get this.  This post will focus on the makeup stencils only and  eyeliner stickies on the next post.

Quick Makeup Stencils

The Quick Makeup stencils set I received has 3 identical stencils for eyebrows, eyeshadow and eyeliner application. Receiving 3 stencils is just amazing as in case something happens with one you can use the other.  It also has the step by step guide inside which is very helpful.

This is how the stencil looks like. It has 3 for the brows and the rest for eyeshadows and eyeliner.

This eyebrow stencil is so helpful for those who do not know how to do their eyebrows yet using the kits in the market. You can practice with this initially before you actually get your hands used to this routine. If you have thick brows, then this stencil might not be for you as this is ideal for those have thin ones. However do give it a shot by trying. so if you have your brow shape from the above, then this one is for you 😀

This is one page of the guide they sent along, which you will receive in your kit. A detailed guide on how to apply fishtail line. Something I always struggled but now life is just much easier. Use a very pointed marker eyeliner for this one to get the perfect flick.

They have the guide for you from dramatic to smokey and almond eye makeup. There are few tips and tricks on applying this which I will share with you all shortly in a video.

There are actually 10 ways to use this stencil from eye shadow application to brows ,eyeliners and even eyelash application.  Retails for $15 USD here and best part is they ship worldwide for FREE so it doesn’t matter which part of the world you belong to. 🙂

Please refer to the picture to see how I did my look the very first time I used it. Initially you would need a bit of practice but it is not difficult at all. I got everything right the 3rd time I used it.  Will be posting an updated looks in a week , pictures and videos to be uploaded this week.

Hope you found this product interesting like I did. Did you ever use makeup stencils? How was the experience?

Disclaimer: The product/s mentioned here was sent to me for review purpose and all thoughts, opinions and pictures shared in this post are totally mine based on experience. I am not, by any means, paid by the company to write this.

The Battle between my love for lipstick and Demands of Society

“Don’t put on that color it’s too light for your skin”. “Don’t buy that lipstick, its way too dark for you” “You will look old with that color”

Do these questions sound familiar? I bet, yes! At least for me, they are. I have heard those ever since I came to know what lipstick was. It has been there all the time, at the back of my mind that I am not a fair-complexioned girl and I shouldn’t be wearing nude lipsticks. Even I can’t wear the bright ones like fuchsia pinks and reds because they are too bright for my skin. Everyone had all the good reasons to shatter my confidence when it comes to colors, be it clothing or makeup.

When buying lipsticks, the three most commonly prohibited colors were usually the nude one, fuchsia pink and red lipstick. I shouldn’t dare touch those or I’ll look like a clown. Even if I gathered the guts to wear, I’ll keep on hearing criticisms right on the spot. Then why bother!

Not until two years ago, my love for makeup increased, I watched all the beauty gurus on YouTube flaunting all those mouth watering lipstick shades. Of course, each and every shade looked really good on them as they were mostly the ideal skin toned girls, “white”! Yes, in our part of the world, girls with white skin are the “ideal” girl. So how can such an ideal girl have any shade look badly on her? If you are someone who belong to the other part of the world with really pale skin, I’m sure you would disagree to what I’m saying as you believe there are shades too that do not suit you. But, society thinks so. Can you stop them? This was the question lingering in my mind every time I see those desirable lipstick colors that I can’t wear, rather not allowed to. But there is always this one person in your life that will push you to do something you have always hesitated, in my case, my husband.

One day, he asked me to try a lipstick that is very light, you put it on, and you can almost not tell it is there. I understood what he meant and so I went to get my very first nude lipstick from Bodyshop. He loved it and so that became my go-to lipstick. That’s where I realized, my skin color is not the problem. It is how we think and how we see things. I need to fix myself as I can’t fix the rest of the world. I actually looked beautiful in nude lipstick, I looked younger and prettier. I told myself maybe the rest of the prohibited colors weren’t that bad either. But there was this hesitation in my heart, so initially I made sure to buy only one dark pink and one bright red. Darn! Did I look hot!

That moment, I felt a huge wall in front of me falling down where I can see lots of different colors beyond that. I felt good to have discovered that my skin actually can carry any kind of color. Name it and I’ll nail it!

The problem was actually me and not the society. People would just talk about you, that’s their work. What matters is how you feel about yourself. Stopping yourself from getting your favorite shade of lipstick somehow would make you unhappy.

Do you really want that to happen? It is not a big deal, go grab it and wear with confidence, you are to judge yourself not

others. Important is how you see yourself. Don’t stop yourself from pulling off anything very neatly, be it clothing, makeup, jewellery or whatsoever just because someone said so.

I may not fit to someone’s ideal description of a beautiful girl but I don’t care. I know I am because I am confident. If you are someone who loves nude lipstick but can’t because of your skin color, make a list of all the nudes you want and go get them. At least try and wear them confidently, you just don’t realize you will just look more beautiful and not otherwise.

pizap.com14398880934001If you are someone who can’t have dark eyebrows because you have light hair color, let me tell you this, make up is an art, and there is no rules for art, so go ahead get your eyebrows done black, brown, green, blue whatever you want and show the world, how beautiful you are. Be happy in your skin, do not restrict yourself and wear all the colors.

If you are able to get the message behind this post, please share with everyone . Someone out there might just need motivation.

Review- M.A.C Highlight Powder Cipria Illuminate and Flat Out Fabulous Lipstick

So I broke my record! I thought I would never buy any M.A.C product as I found it so unnecessarily costly. Until one fine day……. I saw this lipstick shade Flat Out Fabulous on internet , I couldn’t resist the temptation of getting myself one. That was when I didn’t discover its dupe yet. Ughh Will share the dupe with you guys.

I won’t talk about the lipstick much because you will find plenty of reviews on this range everywhere. Just that I love it , love the color, the staying power and texture. ❤ Check out the swatch here.

Next I bought was this M.A.C Highlight Powder Cipria Illuminate. I have seen people raving about M.A.C highlighters but none mentioned this. When I saw this at their store, with no second thoughts I decided to get it. There is something in me that feels the urge of getting those items not bought by others much 😛 I know it’s weird but I like trying out “uncommon’ products as most of the time I found some really awesome underrated stuff.

M.A.C Flat out fabulous lipstick

This powder has two shades, a pink with silver overspray as you see in the picture. The design looks so beautiful and I love the silvers in it. At first I thought it will be too overwhelming on the cheeks once applied. The sales lady told me this can be used as a face powder and I was wondering if she was in her right sense. How can I have silver all over my face.

The product looks like any other normal powder with a very little amount of shimmer on the skin. EXCUSE MY HAIRY ARMS 😛

At first I just used this as highlighter carefully layering the product just above my blush until one day I decided to apply it all over my face and see if the sales lady was right. I applied and to be honest I really liked the result because I am so much into shimmers and glitter. Believe me, my face didn’t look glittery at all.

M.A.C highlight powder. From left to right- Swatched base , blended base +overspray and base+overspray not blended

When using the pink base alone and base + overspray together, it didn’t really make a lot of difference. The silver in this powder gives the exact glow I needed for my beauty 😛 It is a perfect overall powder for me not highlighter.

Will I purchase this again?

No 😛 only because it is costly . Bought it for AED 145

Would I recommend?

Definitely Yes, if you can afford.

Thank you for reading:)

Review & Swatch- Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadow Couture World Traveler Palette

So I’m a proud owner of Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadow Couture World Traveler Palette already. 😀 Feels so good to open my drawer and find this palette inside. Ah! This is what I’ve been using ever since it came. I don’t know if you guys are the same, but in my case, when I like something, I tend to use it a lot and somehow forget about other existing stuff. You can’t blame me because this palette offers a variety of shades with which you can create as many looks as you want.

The Packaging:

I like the color combination of gold and black. The palette is very easy to open and close due to the magnetic touch it has.

It comes with a dual end brush which is very useful, one end perfect for blending and the other end with the smaller bristles perfect to apply shades on crease.

The palette has 4 matte shades and the others a mixture of metallic and satin finish. The colors are very pretty and super pigmented. I didn’t need any kind of eyeshadow base for this at all. The mattes are intense and the metallic ones have enough shimmer in them that do not look awkward at all.

Moving on to the swatches:

The eyeshades as I mentioned, has a very good pigmentation. It is applied directly on bare skin which means no eyeshadow base at all. They are very easy to blend and the colors offered in this palette is just perfect enough for one to create different looks suitable for any time and occasion.

  1. pink champagne and chic are ideal for brightening inner corners of the eye.
  2. soft peach and morocco as transition colors
  3. heirloom and bellini on the lids

The bottom row has more of metallic and satiny shades. Noir is an intense matte shade of black.

  1. Noir perfect for outer corner of the lids for a dramatic look.
  2. spoiled and fudge as transition shades.
  3. spoiled can be used for inner corner of the eyes too.

The colors are long-lasting, I have been applying them mostly without any primer and they lasted forever.

My take on Sephora Kiss Me Balm

Sephora Kiss Me Balm
Sephora Kiss Me Balm

So normally I would write about products that I own but couldn’t help myself from posting about this as I get many queries related to this. It is the most talked-about Sephora Kiss Me Balm.

Normally asked questions:

How different is it form other balm?

Is it worth buying?

My answer:

There is difference and that is the appearance and nothing else. It looks sophisticated as most Sephora products are. There is no single difference between this and my lip balms bought from Boots and my forever fave Vaseline Petroleum Jelly.

Wondering how I came to know when I don’t own it? A friend of mine bought one , didn’t like it much and passed on to me asking if I might want to try & review it. LOL I tried for a good whole week and found no difference at all.

Girls if you ask me, I’m happy to not have spent on it. Why spend around aed35 when you can get same quality for aed5 to 10 from anywhere. If you fancy the packaging, then go ahead.

I’m not sure if that’s the exact price, but if I remember it correctly it was around AED35.

There is nothing wrong with the product as it does what it says, just that there is NO difference between this and any other lip balms.
